Royalty!

This, dear friends, is my first royalty check. Woo Hoo!! I might have wept a little when I reached into the mailbox and pulled it out.

Oh, and, the hideous creature behind it is a girl that has had the stomach flu for 3 days.

Things found while shopping for Christmas.

Shopping online is definitely the way to go when it comes to Christmas presents. If, however, you enjoy being mauled to death over a 99 cent dishtowel then by all means, go to the store.
I do not enjoy displays of violence in discount department stores, and therefore stick to the wonderful world wide web. After all, my computer and I have never broken into a cat fight over a Tickle Me Elmo.
Anyhizzle, it's amazing what you will find on Etsy these days! For $8200.00 you can own this warm winter hat.

Perhaps you are a collector of fine art. Well for $100,000 you can wake up to this amazing portrait every morning.
Don't know what to get that special someone? Well this is sure to please, for only $5700.00.
And...prepare yourself for this epic EPICNESS!

This is my niece. Just in case you were wondering, she is a lot like me.

Things to come.

The blog updating is an EPIC FAIL. Not an epic fail in this sense...

...but rather just a pause. You see, I have been scribbling away at other projects. Sadly, I have also neglected my prairie romance. Fear not, though, I fully intend to finish it and the next chapter will be posted shortly.

The other projects that I have been working on are joint novels. The first is with my friend
Ashley. We have given ourselves 6 months to complete this project. That goal is much harder than one might think when things like work, family, other writing projects and various life commitments fill each day.
We are writing this novel one chapter at a time, each taking turns. The challenge is, we can't discuss it with each other. We simply have to continue the story where the other left off. It's a bit like a choose your own adventure novel.

Oh man, I loved those!
Here are a few pictures that will give you a glimpse into our story as it stands.

The other novel that I am working on is with my friend Lizzy. She and I are writing this story much like Ashley and I, a chapter at a time. We are, however, discussing it a bit as we go. As far as each chapter goes, we can pretty much do what we want but because we both have crazy, overly active imaginations, it helps to just feed ideas off one another so as not to end up with a jumbled mess.
We are about 5 chapters in, doing one chapter per week. This seems to be a good pace as some of the chapters will be lengthy.
Here are some pictures that will give you a glimpse at this story.

I know, with the help of these pictures, that you can fully envision these stories. Obviously.

Why hello!

I am a neglectful blog owner. I shall try to remedy this soon. However, until that day, please enjoy the following.

Taking a break from all things literary for a moment...

It's no secret that I suffer from insomnia. I have since childhood. I usually average about 4-5 hours a night of restless sleep. Most people I talk to don't understand how I function on so little sleep but it's all i have ever known, so it works for me.

I did read somewhere once that when the Biodome was operational, the scientist inside were unable to tell what time of day it was and chose to sleep when their bodies were tired. On average they slept for about 6 hours each day and felt fully rested.

Speaking of Biodome, remember this?

I sure do!

And speaking of Stephen Baldwin, remember this?

Yes, William F. Cody, you will always be my favorite.

Anyway, back to the point of this whole insomnia, sleeplessness, blah blah blah...

You see, I ordinarily read or write when I can't sleep. In fact, I was up until 5:30 this morning finishing a book I was reading. I just couldn't put it down! My review of said book will come later. However, the previous evening I was up doing something quite different. I was playing "stylist" on this site my sister turned me on to. What site do I speak of?

LOOKLET

It is truly addictive. Below are the styles that I created from head to toe, literally.

Man, I have no life :) Or rather, I have no life at 3:00 a.m.
